It is Pezy's ambition to create good products that are relevant for the user and that have positive impact on people, planet and profit. There is no green design, there is only good design and bad design.
We at Pezy feel responsible for the effect our products have on people, planet and profit. This is why we embrace the principles of Cradle to Cradle. We take this responsibility by investing in knowledge and skills of our people, and in building a strong network that helps us to create products that perform good at every aspect of their life cycle.
As one of the first agencies in the world we have trained designers, developers, material specialists and consultants who are accredited by EPEA as "Cradle to cradle Design Consultants". As a team we feel excited to help our customers focus on delivering value for the user by designing the right functionality, creating inspired design and using the right materials.
Potential benefits for you:
• bringing a positive message to the market
• independent acknowledgement for sustainable design
• existing examples on the market show positive effect on profit
• positive approach to deal with scarcity and toxic materials
• giving inspiration to innovate
Perhaps even most important; improving overall quality of product and process.
Cradle to cradle principles help to rethink the way products are designed. It is a positive approach that deals with scarcity and toxicity of materials and intends to make use of the abundance of solar power for energy. It also celebrates and respects diversity on ecological and cultural level.

Practice example Philips - Recycled plastics in mass production
Philips has introduced a new Senseo® this summer which is made of recycled plastic. Pezy has supported Philips by exploring the possibilities for a full grown replacement of the originally applied plastics with special focus on the production process
Practice example - Tourism item concepts
Since January 2009, 22 partners from six countries around the North Sea have joined in the EU Interreg IVB funded Cradle to Cradle Islands project (C2CI) with a leading vision to have the islands function as innovation centres that implement sustainable and Cradle to Cradle solutions. In close cooperation with the Cradle to Cradle founding organization EPEA, Pezy developed 25 Cradle to Cradle product concepts for innovative tourism items.
Practice example - Knowledge center
Pezy is continuously expanding knowledge, both internal and external. We are doing injection-molding trials with the newest bio-based plastics to gain insights in the produceability and design guidelines of these materials. Knowledge is exchanged by collaborating with various educational institutes, network partners, closed seminars, public lectures and ‘Rethink’ workshops.
Practice example - Ground consolidator
Anome projects has developed the Ground consolidator; an angular frame that hooks onto other frames when dropped together. Dikes and natural levees are reinforced by dumping ground consolidators that protect young plants against waves and currents. After a while the vegetation is strong enough to take over the protective functionality. The consolidators can now be degraded into natural elements that are safe for their environment. The consolidators are made of hemp fiber, PLA and chalk. Pezy Product Innovation has contributed to the improvement of this product by changing the construction. This resulted in improved injection molding properties and reduced cost.
