Sr. Consultant Joop Onnekink (j.onnekink@pezy.com) delivered a lecture on the influence of sustainability concepts on product development during a seminar at Sabic Innovative Plastics in Bergen op Zoom, on 26 Nov. '09.
Engineering plastics, the latest developments in injection molding, the possibilities of laser engraving, collaboration in product development: it was all covered in the seminar.
Onnekink notes that there are many advancements in material applications and this has large scale consequences for design guidelines and manufacturing feasibility. He illustrated the advantages and opportunities for designers as well as manufacturers within sustainable thinking. Through close collaboration of all parties it is possible to collect plastic design and development expertise and channel it into a cohesive success.
