Philips asked us to further develop their design concepts of the bowl and remote control into feasible products. We had to focus on cost price, visual quality and technical feasibility.
Especially the bowl and heat sink had high visual requirements; plastic bowl has to look as if its glass. Also we proved feasibility of the blow-moulding of this bowl, this was necessary since it was never done before in this wall thickness. For the remote control we created a technical architecture that fitted the smooth design, incorporating all the constrains of the user interface into a feasible solution. Finally we did a supplier selection for production of the plastic parts and helped industrialize them, including the release for production at the producer site.
By systematically reduce risks and uncertainties and in collaboration with Philips and several suppliers we created an attractive, well-producable and very succesfull product.
