Heineken challenged Pezy to develop a solution for carrying the 5 liter aluminum draught keg. It consists of a carrying ring which integrates the separate tap components.
Pezy was responsible for design and development of the both carrying ring and blister packaging from concept all the way through to establishing a supply chain for production, assembly, and filling of the kegs. The process was further supported with in-house injection moulded components and the making of the blister pack moulds.
The design was rewarded with an international innovation award from the Society of Plastic Engineers during the European Thermoforming Conference 2006 in Salzburg (where entries are judged on originality, creativity, applied technology and mould complexity). This was an excellent confirmation of the project’s success.
